Significant progress made in Farah Khan disproportionate assets case

Webdesk: According to a private TV News Channel , investigators have made substantial headway in the disproportionate assets investigation against Farah Khan, a close friend of former first lady Bushra Bibi.

The NAB’s Lahore office has issued over 100 letters to various agencies seeking information on Farah and her husband, Ahsan Jamil Gujjar.

The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has also submitted data of firms allegedly controlled by Farah and Ahsan, as well as tax records and wealth declarations from the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

Records on suspicious bank accounts are being received from several government-owned and privately-held banks, according to the report.

According to the National Accountability Bureau Lahore, information is being gathered against the couple under Section 19 of the Accountability Act.

Farah’s legal adviser, Asad Rasool, claims that on June 30, 2018, his client’s assets were worth Rs701.62 million, and by June 30, 2021, assets were worth Rs752.37 million. During the period of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government, Asad claims that her assets increased by Rs57.718 million.
